Because at a time of climate emergency, it's high time we aligned our desires for elsewhere with our values. Our aim: to make low-carbon tourism ACCESSIBLE and inspire new imaginations around travel.

In the summer of 2019, Benjamin, alias Tolt on the networks, made a radical decision: to stop flying! In 2023, he goes one step further by creating a dedicated medium: HOURRAIL!
At HOURRAIL! we're convinced that traveling differently is neither more complicated nor less exciting. Better still, we believe that adventure doesn't begin at your destination, but from the moment you set foot in a train station. What if, instead of choosing the plane or the car out of habit, we explored other possibilities?
Travelling differently isn't about giving up, it's about discovering more!
Our mission: to show you that low-carbon alternatives do exist, and that they can be simple, joyful, responsible and often far richer in discovery.
As our founder pointed out for ADEME: “we'll have succeeded when a landscape photo gets more hits on Instagram being taken from inside a train rather than behind the window of a plane”. Suffice to say, we've got our work cut out for us!
Is it really possible to get to Bangkok by train from France? How can I book a night train to Vienna? How can I save on train fares? Is it really worth taking an Interrail pass? Let's be honest, one of the things that can stop you from taking the plunge into low-carbon travel is a lack of information. And because looking for this information can be as time-consuming as it is discouraging, we wanted to make this medium your companion on the road, to simplify your life (tips, city and country guides, travel tips, itineraries…) and inspire you (with stories that make you want to travel differently)!

HOURRAIL! is above all a committed community of thousands of curious and responsible travelers.
HOURRAIL! is both a media company (SAS), with a permanent team, and a volunteer association. In practice, the medium donates part of its sales to the Les Aventuriers d'HOURRAIL! association, which brings together dozens of enthusiasts keen to promote low-carbon travel.
One of the working groups - the “wagon plaidoyer” - aims to accelerate the development of railways in France and Europe through citizen lobbying (notably via petitions or well-argue participations). To join Les Aventuriers d'HOURRAIL! click here!
We want this platform to be useful to as many people as possible. Unfortunately, we're not responsible for France's rail infrastructure, but we do our best to diversify the starting towns for our itineraries. For example, you'll find many itineraries departing from Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Strasbourg and many other cities!
