Where to sleep around Avignon: our selection of accommodation

Are you planning to spend a few days discovering Avignon and the surrounding areas, and filling up on cultural and culinary discoveries and Provencal landscapes on foot or by bike? Zoom in on our selection of favorite accommodations in Grand Avignon.

1. Hôtel de Cambis (Avignon)

Just a stone's throw from the Avignon Centre train station (less than 500 meters), Hôtel de Cambis is ideally located for exploring the city. There's no on-site restaurant, but room service is a good alternative. Dishes, prepared by Maison Val de Luce, are served in jars between 12 and 16 euros, with vegetarian options available. The Hotel also has two seminar rooms (making it convenient for events or business travel) and a fast, reliable Wi-Fi connection.

Why do we love it?

  • For its location: right in the historic heart of Avignon, ideally situated for exploring the city.
  • For its original wine experience: a wine bar featuring local vintages, and a special offer that includes one night's accommodation, a bottle of wine and a visit to Maison Brotte with wine tasting.
  • For its eco-responsible approach (certified Clé Verte). The buffet features local products such as Avignon cheeses, homemade jams, olive oil made 10 minutes away and fresh fruit juice from producers 30 minutes away.

2. Lodges & Nature - Camping les Deux Rhônes (Avignon, Île de la Barthelasse)

Located on Barthelasse Island, Camping les Deux Rhônes offers lodges in the heart of nature, yet very close to Avignon city center.

  • For its peaceful atmosphere and modern facilities, ideal for an outdoor getaway.
  • For its green setting, swimming pool and calm.

3. La Bastide des Amouriers (Caumont-sur-Durance)

In Caumont-sur-Durance, a Vaucluse commune bordering Avignon (known for its historic heritage and pretty Provencal setting), La Bastide des Amouriers offers a family cocoon ideal for vacations with family or friends, with a large living room, two bedrooms and a spacious terrace, the Les Amouriers gîte is very comfortable for 4 people.

4. D'Or les Anges (Les Angles)

Located in Les Angles, a commune in the Gard department which is part of the Grand Avignon urban community, the D’Or les Anges bed and breakfast offers comfortable rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and all the necessary comforts (Wifi access...).

Why do we love it?

  • For its proximity to Avignon and the warm welcome of its hosts.

5. Domaine Colibri (Sauveterre)

In the peaceful village of Sauveterre, on the banks of the Rhône, Domaine Colibri offers charming accommodation surrounded by vineyards and gardens.

6. Villa Aulia (Saze)

Why do we love it?

8. Bonus : Villa des Petits Gardons (Castillon-du-Gard)
