Do you love nature walks, local produce, good wine and lilting accents? You'll love the Drôme! Located in south-east France, halfway between Lyon and Avignon, the Drôme is where the Alps meet Provence, with its warm, perfumed accent.
Its 2 main cities, Valence and Montélimar, are accessible by TGV. TER trains serve these 2 towns, as well as stations in the Rhône Valley, Drôme Valley and Diois. Several villages in the Drôme Provençale (Grignan, Nyons...) also benefit from regular bus services to Montélimar station.
In the colorful markets, local produce offers a taste of Drôme gastronomy: truffles, goat's cheese, olives, sun-kissed peaches and apricots. Winegrowers have been producing top-quality wines for over 2000 years: Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Vinsobres and Côtes du Rhône Villages enjoy legendary reputations! The pre-Alps of the Drôme region offer endless itineraries for hikers, quiet back roads for cyclists, rivers for swimmers and kayakers... Here, nature has preserved its rights!
